Default The Consulate

As of March 5th, The Consulate has now unofficially come into being, and will be looking for members to help establish a foundation for other prospective members to join, both for the BWEs and for the upcoming Guild Wars release. My hope in founding The Consulate is to create a close-knit group of gamers, regardless of skill level or knowledge of the game, to not only assist each other in difficult missions, but to foster communication skills, teamwork, and a positive attitude towards all players which the game demands.

As of now, I'm currently looking for somebody who would like to help with setting up a Guild forum (I have an account set up through Forumer.com, located at http://consulate.8.forumer.com/), and also for someone who would like to help with designing a Guild Emblem. Anybody else who is interested in joining can either PM me or visit the site and apply for membership; I'll admit you once I can get around to checking my e-mail messages each day.

If you're wondering more about The Consulate, or just feel like lending a hand, don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks for listening, and I hope you check out the site.

If anybody has a second to spare, would you be willing to just head to the main page of our forum (http://consulate.8.forumer.com) and let me know if you see a banner displayed at the upper left hand corner of the page which says "The Consulate?" Supposedly after I uploaded it last night, I was asking around and nobody else was able to see it, just want to see if it's an isolated problem or if it has been fixed...

By the way, we're now open to any and all people who are interested in joining up, I feel like the site is coming along nicely, and there are some good ideas being put out there concerning in-game resources and guides for people to readily access.

Hey, I just pre-ordered Guild Wars, and am getting ready for the beta on the 18th. I've been looking at potentially joining a Guild, but some of the others seem to driven to compete. While I'll be able to play quite a bit, I'm out to have fun and make some friends. I think I'd be a good addition to your guild, as I pick up games pretty quickly. I'd appreciate it if you let me in. Thanks

We'd be happy to have you. If you haven't already, stop by the site and fill out the registration form; either myself or our co-founder William the Silent will go through and activate you as soon as we possibly can.

Default Help Wanted

If anybody who has played several BWE and has some free time would like to help us with some of the sections that we are creating within our forums, that help would be appreciated. William the Silent and myself have only been able to experience last February's event, and would like to have a head start on some of the "mission pointers" that we want to make open to our members.

There is no obligation to join the guild, just looking for somebody who wouldn't mind giving us some ideas to build on. If you're interested, either just reply here, PM me, or you can contact me through IRC, MSN, Yahoo, or AIM.

Default Next BWE

As the next BWE begins to rapidly draw near I want to once again extend an invitation to anyone looking for a guild to request initiation into The Consulate. As co-founder I feel it is important to have a large and diverse group of players in our guild in order to fit everyone's needs.

If you would do us the pleasure of joining our guild we (William of Orange and myself) promise to do everything we can to make your GW experience an excellent one. With the next BWE and the actual release date of GW just around the corner, please once again ponder the thought of applying to our guild and we promise it will be worth your time.

All you need to do is click the link below, register, and you will be a proud member of The Consulate in no time.

Default On the Lookout for A Monk

Over this past Event Weekend, our Guild gained some new players after participating in various missions throughout the game, from Fort Ranik to D'Alessio Seaboard to The Wilds. All of these players have been very strong in their own Professions, and we have all of our bases covered except for having a strong Monk primary.

So this is our call to all of the guildless Monks out there. If you're interested in joining a guild, know somebody who is interested, or just want to ask me a few questions, PM me or contact me through AIM or MSN. Hope to see some responses soon!!

Default Forum Chatrooms

Does anybody know of a site where you can host a free online chat session which is not through any of the instant messenging programs? I'd like to try and attach one to our forums, but I'm not sure exactly how I would go about doing that. I'm thinking that mIRC is the way to go, since I'm pretty sure that's what GWG uses to host their online chats, but I have no experience with that and would like to know more about it before I even attempt to do anything.

I didn't really want to start my own thread up for this, and I figured this would be the best place to put some in-game contact info down if anybody ever wanted to get a hold of me while playing Guild Wars (or any game for that matter).

I have Xfire now, so you can always contact me there, and here's some info for it...

Character names: For the next event I'll be finishing up my Ranger/Monk called Vladimir the Wise. Once the game is released, my primary character will be, not surprisingly, William of Orange. Feel free to add me to your Friend's list and talk to me in-game.

Default Hey WoO

I checked the site (a little late) and yeah, I saw the banner. Although having the same background color as the page, I wasn't positive.

Anyway, you two main Consulate guys are from WI right? I checked into your website a while back. I'll be looking for you guys in game at some point, not sure about guilds and all that just yet. Right now a few friends and I have a guild set up simply to be able to use the guild chat filter.

Anyway, I've been in the last two (only) BWE's and if I can give any help/info please let me know. I'll see what I can do.

It's nice to know that you're interested in the guild, even if you're not certain about looking for membership.

And you live in Madison too? Yes, both William the Silent and myself live around that area (Silent's actually in Madison, I was in Verona until recently, now it's Mount Horeb), and are both going through our last year of high school in Verona. I'll keep an eye out for your character in game as well, hopefully closer to the event you'll decide on a final name so we can get in touch if you need anything. And your offer of help is appreciated, and I'll keep that in mind if we ever get stuck on something (I need to start making a list of everybody who has offered help at some point, I don't want to forget anybody out there )

Well I actually do technically live in Verona. I originally posted Madison just so people had a general idea of where in Wisconsin I lived. Hopefully everyone gets the picture now so I'm switching it to Verona.

Back on topic, be sure to hook up with at least one of us in the next BWE because it'd be cool to get another Madison resider on board.

So now we've begun to inch closer to the next Beta Weekend Event, and I've had various people contact me over the past weeks with some interest in joining up with our guild. If you were one of those people who talked to me at some point since the March event, and you're still interested in our Guild, could you please reply to this thread so we know where to look for you in-game (game names are obviously appreciated)? The people I remember off-hard are:

Deathta Yu
Rellok (possibly?)
Worldx

I believe there were others, but I made the mistake of not writing names down at the time (I didn't think I'd have that many people ask me about the guild), so hopefully you see this within the coming week and have a chance to let us know what you wish to do.

To anybody else who now has an interest in The Consulate:
We've reached a point now where Silent and myself won't be accepting just any random person into The Consulate. But that doesn't mean that we're being highly selective about our process either. When we're running through missions with prospective members, we won't really be looking for the person who has the most skill or kills the most amount of enemies. We'll first and foremost be looking for the players who have a willingness to cooperate and communicate with the other party members whom they've formed with, and be courteous and respectful to others no matter what the circumstances may be. Our hopes are to try and spread our view to anybody who is willing to listen, since a mature and respectful community is vital to the spreading of the game to newer players.

So again, if anybody has any interest in joining up before the upcoming Beta Event, let William the Silent or myself know as soon as possible and we'll try to arrange something for you. Thank you.

With the Beta Weekend Event less than 3 hours away, I just thought I'd take this opportunity, since a week has passed since my last post in this thread, to let people know my approximate times when I'll be available in-game for any questions/interests in our guild.

Tomorrow (15th): I will be online at around 5:00 AM CST (GMT -6) until around 7 AM. I will also be on from around 3:00 PM until some ridiculously later hour, most likely 4 or 5 the following morning.

Saturday (16th): Depending on how much I sleep, I'll be online either between 9 AM and noon, and will continue to be on until 4 or 5 the following morning.

Sunday (17th): Now this is where the trouble will come in. By this point, my mom will be very upset with me, and most likely demand that I go out and do something with friends. I will resist, and give pre-determined excuses as to why I shouldn't, but she'll be stubborn (she's Italian, it's just natural), and I'll most likely have to cave in to her.

So, what I'm thinking my hours are going to be will be this:
Morning: 11 AM
Afternoon: On until about 3 or 4, when my mom will come in and proceed to yell for the above reasons.
Evening: Back on around 9-10, and I'll stay on until we get kicked off the servers/burned by Gwen again (or perhaps a new character will shut us down...)

So there you have it. If you haven't checked yet, I've listed contacts in the Unofficial GW Phone Book, but here they are in case you're too lazy to check:

Vladimir the Wise ~ Level 19 R/Mo at Temple of the Ages <-got so close to Level 20 too
William of Orange ~ Level 8 Ranger at Nolani Academy <-won't be playing with this character most likely

Default Hello

I am interested in being considered for memebership into your guild. I am looking for a well organized, well mannered guild that has experience in mmo's.

I have played alot of them, wow, eq2, ff11, ryzom, coh, horizons, knights online, earth above and beyond, beta for matrix and R.O.S.E, oh and of course SWG. What can I say I love em. GW looks and plays like one of the better ones now I just looking for one of the better clans, and I think I might have found it in you guys from what I have read.

I would like to ask more questions and I'd like to group with you with you guys later when I get home.

Talk to you guys soon.
